Title: Snowed In.
Post by onlyme722 on Mar 4th, 2008, 2:24pm
Another pretty easy one, some people get it right away, some guess and guess and guess.

There is a cabin atop a snowy mountain.  Inside there are a few dozen people, all of whom are dead.  Outside the cabin there are no tracks of any kind.  No footprints, no vehicle tracks, nothing.  The snow on the ground is pristine and has been this way for days.  What preceded this moment?  In other words, how did this scenario come to be?

You will probably want to ask "Well were there tracks that got snowed over"...I will say "no".  You may ask, "are there any weapons within the cabin" I will say "no".  Ask away if you need a clue, you can guess outright or play 20 questions, I don't mind.

And of course, if you've heard this one, don't bother posting the answer :P.

Realistically, it could be [hide]carbon monoxide poisoning[/hide], if they were careless about keeping warm.
Although that ignores the lack of tracks entirely. (But they may have been there a long time)

No that's not it, but yes, they could have been there for awhile, but that's not the reason for the lack of tracks.  Knowing How long they've been there won't solve the riddle. I'd love to give you a clue, but you seem like a particularly smart individual, so I won't :).

Are you sure the cabin is on the top of the mountain?  ::)

Maybe they fell in through the roof of the cabin.

After having been thrown from a plane.

It'd explain why they're dead, and the lack of tracks ;)

Well the cabin doesn't have to be on top of the mountain, but It IS on a mountaintop.  It's exact location on the mountain isn't necessarily important.

They did not fall in from the roof, they intended to be in the cabin.
