Peter and Gary were standing on opposite ends of a crosswalk, waiting for the light to turn green. Gary has been paid to kill Peter. The light turns green, and both cross the street. As they meet in the middle, Peter is killed. However, Gary did not kill Peter. What did?

The answer is REALLY simple, to the point of stupidity. There is info you don't need here.

The light turns green, yes, but for cars, not pedestrians.
