Title: Shotgun Post by Iceman on Oct 9th, 2007, 8:04am Jonathan has just several cartridges left in his shotgun, and his pursuers are gaining on him. There are no other human made objects anywhere near or other life forms for that matter. Jonathan fires all the cartridges aiming down at, pretty much, one spot only, which weren't meant to hurt his pursuers. But why then? |

Title: Re: Shotgun Post by Iceman on Oct 17th, 2007, 9:31am I like DC1E2L's answer but ima1trkpny is no the right track. Remember, there were no man made objects near. And yes, it was a movie. ;) |

Title: Re: Shotgun Post by Grimbal on Oct 18th, 2007, 5:29am Anyway, there are no man-made objects nearby, that would exclude a tunnel and a plank. And if Iceman doesn't understand what you are talking about, it is very unlikely to be the intended solution. Iceman, the idea was [hide] that a plank is used as a bridge over a pit, a pit that otherwise can not be crossed, and by firing at the plank, Jonathan either destroys the plank, or makes it so fragile that nobody would dare walk on it.[/hide] |

Now you're getting into more sci-fi-y stuff. In the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th books of the Ender series, the "piggies" third life form is a tree which has souls, minds, and feelings, so if you were talking about them, then I guess that would apply. |
