How would you weigh a cat so that the cat doesn't touch the scales? Mind you, you aren't allowed to use another object.

I would [hide]weigh myself, take the cat, weigh myself together with the cat, and subtract[/hide].

Seeing as cats aren't known for their willingness to sit still on scales, I think as a practical matter that's how we've all learned to weigh our cats...

Some folks are afraid of cats. So if you have a dog instead, you just say to the dog: 'Go on and sit on the scale!' Maybe I should've mention a puppy instead of the cat. :P

Of course, you could put a dog on the scale, weigh the dog, then put the cat on the dog, weigh together, subtract.

Or substitute dog with anything else that you might find handy.
