Title: Duel
Post by Iceman on Dec 10th, 2006, 7:26am
One points a rifle at the unarmed one. The unarmed one turns his back to him, kills him, and then falls down. He gets out of this wounded though, so how he won?

He farted?

I wouldn't call getting your guts ripped out winning exactly. But at least he gave his life sucessfully defending his home.

That's beautiful Icarus, but I don't see the rifle anywhere in the picture with your answer?

This isn't your regular duel now is it?

Although I don't understand how anything can kill someone wielding a rifle from behind their backs, I think the solution is [hide]the unarmed one is an animal like a bear[/hide]

Yeah, but I live only a couple hundred miles from Arkansas, where there are folks who will use guns for anything! ;)

well... I'm not stupid to [hide]hold a gun backwards[/hide]... but you never know

One should never duel in the House of Mirrors...

:P

Title: Re: Duel
Post by Sameer on Dec 10th, 2006, 8:22pm
I think Laudie got it right... [hide]the shot is fired but the animal turns back and gives the hunter a fatal kick in the nuts... thus killing the hunter but only getting wounded in the process from the shot....[/hide]

Title: Re: Duel
Post by Laudie on Dec 10th, 2006, 10:11pm
I've been thinking that it is a bit weird that an animal like a bear would get close enough to the man to turn around on purpose and then kick him or the unlikely event that a deer or wild animal does it similarly so I'm changing my theory:

[hide]The farmer was trying to kill his pet donkey for some reason.  The donkey felt alarmed, turned around, and "kicked the man in the nuts."  He was only grazed by the bullet in the process.

The original problem with this theory was that I didn't think an animal such as a donkey could withstand a point blank rifle shot.  But who knows when you're put in that kind of situation, and plus the gunner is only a friendly farmer this time.[/hide]

He shoots a rocket launcher at his feet?

Or perhaps shoots it up and the wind blows it backwards, hitting the guy behind him.  ;D

Title: Re: Duel
Post by Iceman on Dec 11th, 2006, 4:56am
No. And the unarmed one is not an animal.

Remember those riddles where [hide]not everything is mentioned[/hide]?  ;)

I said he was unarmed.

Maybe he held his weapon with the legs, not the arms?  ::)

Or perhaps he was unarmed at the moment but then picked the weapon off the ground once the riddle began.  8)

Title: Re: Duel
Post by Iceman on Dec 11th, 2006, 9:16am
No to both. This time the answer is not a stupid one.  ;)

Title: Re: Duel
Post by flamingdragon on Dec 11th, 2006, 9:19am
Well u didn't say he was "unbacked". He has the hilt of a sword lodged into his back and when he turns around it strikes the other guy who shoots him while he's dying.  8)

I'm gonna suppose [hide]the rifle exploded in his face. [/hide] Probably wrong, but oh well, it was a guess.

Nope.

Title: Re: Duel
Post by cchris on Dec 11th, 2006, 11:49am
So let me get it straight, the unarmed one, after turning his back to the armed one, kills the armed one? Then the unarmed one falls down?

Title: Re: Duel
Post by Iceman on Dec 11th, 2006, 12:22pm
Yes. You have to say how, that is, what happened. Is some plausible situation cooking in your mind, which fits with everything mentioned in the riddle?  ;) And of course, you can [hide]use things that are not weapons as a weapon[/hide]..

Title: Re: Duel
Post by cchris on Dec 11th, 2006, 12:34pm
This wasn't out of [hide]The Matrix[/hide], was it?

Title: Re: Duel
Post by Iceman on Dec 11th, 2006, 1:31pm
No. Some other movie.  ::) And you really don't have to be Neo to pull something like that. Although, not anyone can do it..   ;)

Title: Re: Duel
Post by flamingdragon on Dec 11th, 2006, 1:40pm
He fell over backwards and pushed him off a cliff.  ;D
and of course his head hit the trigger of the gun shooting his own foot in the process.

Title: Re: Duel
Post by Iceman on Dec 11th, 2006, 2:17pm
No, but [hide]height[/hide] is involved.  ;)

Title: Re: Duel
Post by raven on Dec 11th, 2006, 4:13pm
Height!?!? That shoots down my guess...

Instead I will say that he turns around slowly--hands reaching towards the buzzards circling overhead--and as the marshal approaches him to put on the shackles, he horse-kicks him with his spurred boot-heal! The marshal goes down (I'll spare the gory details here) but a shot is fired and grazes our man in passing.

And you might wonder how height influences this answer? It's in the gory details!  ;)

Post by flamingdragon on Dec 11th, 2006, 4:20pm
The guy is obviously a wizard, and when he turns around he casts a spell to make it appear that there are a hundred of him. The other guy goes crazy shooting wizards untill eventually he falls off a cliff, of course he was lucky enough to hit the real wizard once.  8)

BLASPHEMY!

Title: Re: Duel

He has a metal plate or something on his back that will make the bullet bounce back and hurt the shooter. The force of the bullet still knocks him over though.

Post by flamingdragon on Dec 12th, 2006, 6:38pm
It is of course spiderman who slings him off the cliff with webs from behind his back, however was shot once before his web covered the guys arms.

Not bad, but a metal plate on his back sounds weird, so no bullet bouncing either.  ;)

It is a fight between Obi Zero (the father of Obi Wan) and Darth Granvador (the father of Darth Vador).
Anyway, they are fighting with laser swords.  At some point Obi Zero pretends to be thrown off guard and turns around.  Darth Granvador strikes him in the back.  But Obi Zero attached a mirror on his back so the laser blade is reflected and kills Darth Granvador.

Or how bout two guys are fighting and the guy turns around and the other guy shoots him w/ a rocket launcher, however the other guy had armor on and so was barely alive, the other guy however dies.

Title: Re: Duel
Post by Iceman on Dec 13th, 2006, 7:35am
The only weapon involved was the rifle, so no bazooka either. Btw, think [hide]bigger[/hide].   ;)

[hide]The unarmed man was piloting a helicopter at low altitude and was initially facing the shooter.  Then he swung copter around (turning his back to the shooter in the process). The stabiliser blades on the tail end of the helicopter strike the armed guy, chopping him to bits which kills him. But  the unarmed guy, in the process, crashed the copter thus ending up wounded.[/hide]

Title: Re: Duel
Post by hiyathere on Dec 13th, 2006, 10:22am
It's just a possibility, but it could be that the rifle is just an air rifle, and the unarmed guy is just tough and only gets wounded. The force of the air rifle made the guy using it fall back over the cliff and die.

I don't really know, random guess :P

You got it. The armed fellow was on the [hide]control tower[/hide].  And [hide]when you loose the tail rotor, you are in an express elevator to hell: going down[/hide].   8)

I played with the ideas of plate in the back of the head, and also reflection of a laser rifle, medusa, and all sorts of other stuff, as well as some sort of vehicle that was turned around--but my brain didn't translate that into helicopter so I couldn't quite make it work...

good riddle  :)
