Title: What is Risk?
Post by grungy on Dec 9th, 2006, 2:40am
There was once a college that offered a class on probability applied to the real world.

The class was relatively easy, but there was a catch. There were no homework assignments or tests, but there was a final exam that would have only one question on it.

When everyone received the test it was a blank sheet of paper with a solitary question on it: "What is risk?"

Most students were able to pass, but only one student received 100% for the class! Even stranger was that he only wrote down one word!

What did he write?

[hide]This.[/hide]

Or something to that effect ([hide]Some insult might have been thrown in for good measure[/hide]).
I can never quite remember the punchline to these sort of things.

I heard it with courage, instead of risk.

If I had been the teacher, I wouldn't have given him 100% though. I would have written "It sure is. F."

He wrote [hide]one[/hide].

Or he wrote [hide]me[/hide], because that is his [hide]name[/hide].

Or he wrote [hide]game[/hide]. Do you like that [hide]game[/hide]?

Or he wrote [hide]wife[/hide]: quite a risk there.

Or he wrote [hide]risk[/hide], because [hide]risk equals risk[/hide].   8)

Who doesn't like that game, Iceman?

And he could also have put normal things that aren't that big of a risk yet still minor risks such as: Driving, boxing/any other sport, snowboarding, or flying. In fact, even "existing" or "living" is risking death.  8)

Yeah, swearing or saying 'this' was the right answer...  I like the swearing concept, but 'this' is the right answer.

I have another idea. I would say "game", because there is a board game called risk.
