Title: Mark and John are back Post by Iceman on Dec 4th, 2006, 12:08pm John's wife gave birth to twins in the meantime, so he is a dad now, just like Mark, who has one son. John asks Mark to give him a wagon for his tractor, which Mark inherited from his old man, since Mark has no use for it. Mark says: 'It is the beginning of summer for two Illinois men. On Monday, Fletcher is relaxing at his farm, where he is looking at twins, and wagon. Tomorrow, the other one, Donald, who is a lot richer and lives in an expensive mansion in Chicago periphery, glances at one son. Having these two moments in mind, did Fletcher had a warmer home on Monday, or Donald on Tuesday? If you answer correctly, you can have it.' |

Title: Re: Mark and John are back Post by Noke Lieu on Dec 4th, 2006, 2:43pm WELL.... I am assuming that Fletcher didn't have Donald on Tuesday, so that leaves the other option of a warmer house on Monday. Warmer than what, though? Alternatively, maybe Fletcher is cross with the twins and so the house doesn't feel full of love. Perhaps Donald was a pervert, and the son wasn't his and he was feeling hot hot hot. |

Title: Re: Mark and John are back Post by cchris on Dec 4th, 2006, 11:17pm I thought the same thing Chunk. But I think somehow, [hide]Fletcher = John, and Donald = Mark.[/hide] It's obviously paralleled. |

But the riddle asks who had a warmer home, not which one was warmer on the each day. [hide]I think that Mark is trying to give John a red herring by making it look like he is drawing parallels. Actually, Fletcher is not looking at twin children but he is looking at the weather channel and sees a symbol for rain (twin raindrops). Donald watches the weather channel on Tuesday and sees that the weather has cleared, and glances at one "sun". Therefore, Donald has the warmer house on Tuesday[/hide] |

Title: Re: Mark and John are back Post by Iceman on Dec 5th, 2006, 3:27pm You are the winner Laudie, :o [hide]but Fletcher was looking at two star constellations instead. So Donald had warmer home on Tuesday at that moment, because it was day and the sun was burning. So the above two moments were on trial, not the whole day. I suppose I was not clear enough about that, otherwise I am sure you would get the first part of the answer right.. And as for the above home, it is usually a house, but it can be also a town, or a state.[/hide]. :-/ ;) |
