Title: A Wake Up Call Puzzle Post by K Sengupta on Apr 7th, 2006, 7:56am Mr. A placed the Do Not Disturb sign on the handle and closed the door. He noted the time as 1:00 AM and called the front desk for a wake up call at 11:00 AM. Exhausted Mr. A fell into bed and tried in vain to fall asleep. By 3:00 AM, unable to sleep, Mr. A asked the front desk to page Mr. B, his business associate in the next room, with an urgent message. Luckily, Mr. A heard the phone ringing in Mr. B’s room, and a few moments later, he mercifully fell asleep. What could the ringing phone in Mr. B’s room have had to do with Mr. A’s ability to fall asleep? Source: Puzzle Magazine |

Title: Re: A Wake Up Call Puzzle Post by Icarus on Jan 7th, 2007, 7:49pm towr's answer was a hint that goes halfway to the solution. There is a reason Mr. A cannot sleep. Calling Mr. B in the middle of the night removed that reason - at least long enough for Mr. A to get to sleep. |
