Title: Re: Big hole, small hole, no hole Post by evergreena3 on Apr 6th, 2006, 8:04am You cut a small channel (small hole) into the side of a volcano (big hole), causing an eruption that took off the side of the volcano and sealed the opening (no more hole). |

Title: Re: Big hole, small hole, no hole Post by Grimbal on Apr 10th, 2006, 2:05pm I don't understand all of the above, but none of it has a connection with my solution. Or maybe a very remote connection with evergreen's. |

Title: Re: Big hole, small hole, no hole Post by Icarus on Apr 10th, 2006, 4:25pm Cops and Homer Simpson are both known for their affection for [hide]donuts[/hide]. However the new hole tends to be bigger than the original hole, so my suggestion doesn't fit all that well. |

Title: Re: Big hole, small hole, no hole Post by Noke Lieu on Apr 11th, 2006, 8:00pm taking that balloon idea in the other direction (I feel there still will be a hole if you burst one. Let me go and find a kid with one. I'll get back to you) (actually, my bike tyre had a puntcure... still plenty of hole there) What if it's a thin walled vacuum chamber? That would be a hole in the atmosphere. Then the hole in the chamber removes that hole. Suppose there'd still be the hole in the chamber though. |

Title: Re: Big hole, small hole, no hole Post by Grimbal on Apr 12th, 2006, 2:27pm Well, that it was. My idea was: [hide] The balloon burst. What you end up with is a few pieces of rubber.[/hide] |

Title: Re: Big hole, small hole, no hole Post by gigbox_69 on May 3rd, 2006, 8:01pm did you pop a bubble? |

Title: Re: Big hole, small hole, no hole Post by Grimbal on May 10th, 2006, 12:46am A bubble could also work. My solution can be seen by selecting the orange-brown area 2 posts above this one. |

Title: Re: Big hole, small hole, no hole Post by DewiMorgan on Jun 5th, 2006, 9:18pm Darn, I had this one pegged as a rather nice graphological puzzle, where the answer was in the puzzle (three times!) Hole -> HoPe A little contrived, perhaps, given it has to be capital. But I liked the way each "hole" referred to a different thing. |
