Title: Behind enemy lines Post by alien on Dec 29th, 2005, 11:38am Chinese platoon of disciplined fighting man are instructed to seek and eradicate Japanese marines, which are located somewhere in the southeast of China. So they approach the mentioned area, and then the commanding officer sends a scout to gather information and report back. The scout detects suspicious movement in the trees using binoculars, but he is to far away to form an opinion about it, so he decides to come closer using all of his scouting skills. So he starts to approach the forest in question, but with his hands up. Why? |

Title: Re: Behind enemy lines Post by Desi Dhakkan on Dec 29th, 2005, 4:46pm He didn't want to die. His commander knew that if the scout does not come back within certain amount of time, he must have found them in the forest. |

Title: Re: Behind enemy lines Post by alien on Dec 30th, 2005, 6:10am Plausible, but surrender is not in his creed, as he is instructed to avoid capture at all cost, because otherwise he might reveal the location and strength of his platoon. Of course, this is just talk, but let us presume that this scout is afraid of no man, and following instructed engagement of higher command to the letter. |

Title: Re: Behind enemy lines Post by Grimbal on Jan 1st, 2006, 4:12pm Too late. I thought of another possibility. The scout saw it was a moose (god only know what it was doing there!). As is well known to canadian moose hunters, to approach one without scaring it you have to raise your hands to make you look like one. He don't know what for he needs to approach it but he has got orders to "observe the source of the suspicious movement", so that is what he is going to do. |
