Title: Water, please.
Post by BamaBoyz4Life on Aug 3rd, 2005, 7:10pm
A man walks into a bar approaches the bartender. He asks for a glass of water. The bartender then pulls out his gun and fires at the man, barely missing his head, to which the man replies,
" Thanks",
and walks out. Why?

You may ask questions to get the answer, but they must be yes or no answers only. Good luck!

OK, a yes/no question... don't you agree it is polite to check (by searching) before reposting a riddle?

The man was thirsty. It was a water gun. ;P

or maybe the classic:

[hide]The man was a hick and the bartender was out of cups.[/hide]

Yes, yes I do. And I did. Several times actually. When nothing came up, I decided to post.

Surely it must have been [hide]hiccoughs[/hide], as river phoenix alluded to.

Or maybe the barman and the 'customer' are secret agents, and ordering a glass of water is secret agent code for 'shoot the guy following me'.

(without reading the replies)

[hide]The bartender can see that the man has hiccups, which would explain why he wants a glass of water.  He pull out the gun and misses to scare him, since it is commonly known that sudden fright can cure hiccups.[/hide]

I've heard one similar to this where one person is getting a drink at a drinking fountain, turns around to see a gun pointed at her, then both her and the person with the gun start laughing.

Actually, River Phoenix was the first to give that answer in this thread.

The guy could have a Mohawk that he wanted to get rid of, fast, so the bartender shot all the hair off his head.

BTW sudden fright curing hiccups is only a theory.

I know.  I meant it is commonly believed, not commonly known...
