Jennifer falls asleep in her house and Jeb dies. What happend?

This riddle is based on a true story.

Well, the two instances could be entirely unrelated, but that seems a little dull.

How about Jeb is Jennifer's imaginary friend, and so only exists, or lives, while Jennifer is awake (or dreaming, but that is more random). Hence, when Jennifer falls asleep, her imaginary friend Jeb "dies" since he ceases to exist. However, if Jennifer is appropriately minded when she wakes up, she will bring Jeb back to life again, as if he had always been alive ;D

Or, possibly a better answer, so I might as well hide this one, [hide] Jennifer has gone for an operation to remove her unborn child, Jeb, from her. However, due to some complications with the anaesthetic, when Jennifer falls asleep due to it, Jeb dies from the dose he receives [/hide]

Was Jennifer [hide]smoking in bed when she fell asleep[/hide]?

Was Jennifer [hide](350 pounds) laying in bed with her newborn Jeb[/hide]?

Was Jeb's death directly caused by Jennifer falling asleep? Or was Jeb's death directly caused by something that occurred because Jennifer fell asleep?

Its so obvious, Jeb was eaten alive by Jennifers drug induced visionary monsters, whom are 2.5feet tall, and have sharp teeth.

Jeb dances, but has no legs? Or maybe the other way round.
Am think ing there is an asphyxia thing going on.
Fire goes out, and their both gassed. Cabon monoxide was what made me think along this track (which is either from old coal gas, or the fire keeps on burning with lack of ventilation)

How awful would you feel if you crushed and/or suffacated your own newborn child by accident?!

I just don't know what I would do.

Hmmm....I heard that one before, but the answer was that whole sanity thing....
There's actually a lot of incarnations of that, before I remembered the first I thought Jeb was a malnutritioned goldfish, and Jennifer just had to fall asleep, in which time Jeb died of starvation...

How about switch the kid with your roomie's baby, then when she wakes up, claim the live kid was yours and the dead one hers (I Kings 3:16-27)?

This is a far too common occurence, and is the main reason cribs were invented.
