Title: 12 sons Post by DeMark on Nov 23rd, 2003, 2:21am I think this is the new one. :P There was a man who had 12 sons. Every son had a car. Every car was parked in a garage. One day one of the sons(lets call him Mark) sat in his car, drove to the forest and commited a murder. Next day his father knew that Mark is a murderer. How did he know? Sorry if I'm a bad English speaker. :-[ |

In the first case, the father knows that there is a murder and then pins it on Mark, whereas in the second case, something about Mark, his car, and his garage told the father about the murder. |

If this is so, it still doesn't show why the father knows that it was any of his sons. Maybe Mark was just out for a leisurly drive rather than on a murderous rampage and it was actually the neighbor who lived down the block that did it. |

Title: Re: 12 sons Post by Speaker on Nov 24th, 2003, 6:43pm Well, the victim was also a son of the father, and had a car. Both sons drove to the scene of the crime. Then Mark killed his brother. However, he drove his brother's car back to the house. (Maybe by accident or he was stupid or he intended to make a switch later or something.) Then, his father reads about the murder and that Mark's car was found at the scene of the crime. So, he knows that Mark was the only person with the opportunity to kill his brother. But, this is all circumstantial, he could probably get off if he had a good lawyer. |

Title: Re: 12 sons Post by Sir Col on Dec 6th, 2003, 5:39am Like aero_guy said, I don't think, like the snow under the car, it would stick in a court of law. He may have just been out at work all day, during which time it snowed, so when he got back there would be snow under the car. In other words, just because he'd been out all day doesn't make him the murderer. After all, most people are out all day. So a couple more possibilities... (i) Perhaps the father and Mark had fallen out and Mark was trying to set him up. The father read something in the paper that would eventually lead the police to investigate him. (ii) The victim was a friend of the family. Mark was the father's favourite son and unlike any of the other sons they both shared a passion for fishing. Of all his sons, he had only ever taken Mark to a special place in the forest. It was at this place that the murder had taken place. |
