Title: Re: Posting Problem? Post by Barukh on Sep 24th, 2007, 1:28am Maybe (it went unnoticed by me). Do we have a solution? |

Title: Re: Posting Problem? Post by Grimbal on Sep 24th, 2007, 5:37am We discussed it previously. I remember there was a solution, but it was for the % sign. http://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~wwu/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=riddles_suggestions;action=display;num=1181783716;start=10#10 It seems to me that the firewall shielding the server only likes valid UTF-8 posts. If I set the page encoding to UTF-8 and post a e-acute (e+´) I get the above. It is an e-acute but with the 2 UTF bytes displayed as 2 characters. If I set the page encoding to UTF-8 for that reply, I see the e-acute. Maybe the web server should be instructed to use UTF-8 encoding? |

Title: Re: Posting Problem? Post by Sir Col on Sep 24th, 2007, 5:55am I hadn't noticed it before, Barukh, but I stumbled on it the other day too. I was trying to make a post containing the name, Schroedinger, but was forced to replace o-umlaut with oe because it kept "breaking" when I clicked "Post" or "Preview". Grimbal, what was the solution for a character like, o-umlaut? |

Title: Re: Posting Problem? Post by Grimbal on Sep 24th, 2007, 6:25am There was no solution for accentuated characters, only a fix about the % sign. on 06/21/07 at 13:44:10, towr wrote:
