Title: SUGGESTION TO THE SITE
Post by pcbouhid on Nov 18th, 2005, 11:33am
I´m new here, and I´m a regular contributor to a similar site in England. In that site, we have the facility to create what is called "My watch list", where we "put" the problems that we are accompanying. Besides the new ones (that are posted every day), all we have to do is just take a look at our "watch list" (where we include our own  submitted problems as well) to see if "something new" happened.

Excuse for possible mistakes in my English, I´m brazilian.

It's a good suggestion. But I doubt our admin has time to change anything. He's been too busy with real life to do much here.
If you look at the news line, it says "we'll be moving soon" (to a new server supposedly) and that's been there for months now. And the mathematical symbols haven't worked since the upgrade either (which also was a few months ago).

Each thread has a "notify of replies" button which I believe e-mails you when that thread gets a reply (I've never tried it myself).

rmsgrey, the button works, I assure you. I used it in this "suggestion".

I've used it before too, but quickly learned that it got annoying. If I were to visit here only occasionally, and only wanted to track certain threads in which I have particular interest, then the notification tool would be useful. Indeed, I believe this is why we keep hearing from certain long-time contributers, such as Eric Yeh, only on rare occasions, and only in response to posts within certain threads. Eric has set up his riddles with notification, and checks whenever someone posts to them.

But for me, it doesn't tell me anything I don't find out everyday anyway.
