I have put an animated gif in my signature. Sometimes you can see it :) and sometimes you can not. :'( Is it because it is an animated gif? If so what can I do to correct this problem??

If I had to guess I'd say the server the image is on does not allow you to link to it from another server.
You can try uploading it on another server, or even this one (i.e. attach it to a message, and then link to it here)

I did as you suggested and uploaded the image on another server. I can see the image now. :) Can you see the image in my signature also?

I can see the image now but there is no animation. Can this board show animation of the gifs or not?

I can see the animation. Make sure you have show animated GIFs enabled in your browser.
