Title: Punctuation II Correction/Variation Post by Sam Harvey on Jan 28th, 2004, 6:32pm With regards to this problem... This is a problem that my father posed for me in a different light, he asked me how many times the one english word could be repeated and still make a legible paragraph... the explaination being thus: Consider the following two sentances by two students: Sam's said "I had a great night at the party." Tom's said "I had had a great night at the party." The teacher is correcting the statements and decrees; Tom, where Sam had had "had", had had "had had". "had had" had had the teachers approval. Maybe this may make some more sense now... Then again maybe not... Cheers, Sam |
