Title: Re: hide test Post by towr on Jan 21st, 2003, 12:09am cool.. btw, if you're interested, I'm working on a piece of javascript so that you could unhide/rehide pieces of text by the push of a button.. Not that there's really anything wrong with selecting text to view it.. (And javascript sucks in general) |

Title: Re: hide tests (ignore me) Post by Sir Col on Jul 24th, 2003, 6:17pm Instead of making the hidden text the same colour as the table cell background, why don't you make the hidden text foreground and background the same? For example, the HTML code, <span style='background-color:#cccccc;color:#cccccc;'>Test</span> (although you may need to use <layer> tags for Netscape compatibility) would create a solid block of light grey. Highlighting the area would contrast the hidden text in the same way as your current system works. The advantage of this system is that quoted text would still be hidden. In addition, it would be obvious when users have hidden an answer – sometimes, due to the size of members avatars, I miss the fact that there are hidden lines below the first visible line. |
