:o Woah, Icarus, your example of "somewhat random" capitalizations are making me dizzy and somewhat queezy... As for the other two (lowercase) u's, i hope that it was just human error, or else this thread is going to continue for a LONG time before we finally settle on an agreement of how the "somewhat random" capitalizations don't seem too random anymore. ;D

Yes, such posts can be a bit confusing. Well, actually they often are even if you know it's a hint! :)

You'll surely encounter more posts of that kind if you spend more time in this forum. Other notorious hinters include tohuvabohu, aero_guy, BNC, maryl, Icarus of course - have I forgotten someone?

I don't think the capitalization is random. I'd suggest (as best can be guessed from the question) that if the pair of letters contains an a then the second letter should be capitalized.

This works and can even be extended to "if the [hide]name of the month[/hide] contains an "a" the second letter should be a capital". So only the last (or first) two remaining items lead to a capital.

I think they are...

I arrived this as follows...
mA -> mArch
aP -> aPril
mA -> mAy
ju ->june
ju ->july
aU ->aUgust

henceforth...
se -> September
Oc -> October

therfore....next 3 letters are seO...
I couldn't think about the change in case.

Raghug, thanks for sharing your thoughts. But have you read and considered the other posts in this thread? I can understand that people don't want to read all pages of threads like 0.999..., but in this case it doesn't take long.

Perhaps Raghug has not yet discovered how to see hidden text.

Raghug: If you use your mouse to highlight blank areas in messages on this forum, you will see text in them which is hidden. We use hidden text so that readers who are looking for a push in the right direction, and not the whole solution, can get it without seeing the whole thing.

To hide text yourself, use the hide tags: [ hide ] and [ /hide ] (without the spaces I added to make them show).

2,4,6,12,....this is the pattern of the capital letters
the next number is 14. So "o" is capital.

not necesarily...
2,4,6,12 can also continue with 24 (a series begining with 2,4 and continuing by summing all elements till then). Naturally, it is less likely, but there might be others as well since the serie is too short.
