Title: BRIDGE CROSSING -- is this right? Post by standsolid on Jan 3rd, 2003, 3:25am i was looking over bridge crossing in med. and i though this was the correct answer, but it's kinda bugging me If two people need to cross, then another needs to return with the flashlight. thus, A & B = 2 min A to Beginning = 1 min A & C = 5 min A to Beginning (again) 1 min A & D = 10 min add it all up to get 19 minutes. is that logical/correct? |

Title: Re: BRIDGE CROSSING -- is this right? Post by redPEPPER on Jan 3rd, 2003, 4:01am That's logical/correct but it's not the best solution (so it's not the answer to the problem). You can do 17 minutes. |

A and B cross = 2 min A goes back = 1 min A gives flashlight to D and C and they cross = 10 min D&C give flashlight to B and he goes back = 2 min B & A cross = 2 min Total 17 min. Woot! Bring on the cushy M$ job! |

I'm kidding, naturally. I had a best friend who went to work for Microsoft. It's scary how they slowly brainwash their employees. |
