Title: Two-face bomb Post by stardust496 on Dec 28th, 2008, 6:05pm So I am struggling with the two-face bomb problem http://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~wwu/riddles/hard.shtml#2faceBomb I don't have much of a probability intuition so am kind of lost where to begin. Any hints ? Thanks!! :) (I searched for this in the forums but could not find it, sorry if this has been discussed before) |

Title: Re: Two-face bomb Post by towr on Dec 29th, 2008, 1:48am The threads about this problem are a bit old, so you have to remember to set the maximum age when searching for them. There are ones here (http://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~wwu/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=riddles_hard;action=display;num=1033240646) and here (http://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~wwu/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=riddles_hard;action=display;num=1179807186). If you want to begin on your own, begin with fewer than 2000 digits; like 4 or 10, then try to see if you can find an approach that scales up. |
