Title: 100 hunter riddle Post by gigglesnort on Nov 30th, 2006, 5:17pm Ok, here's a riddle that's an extra credit problem in my math class There are 100 hunters, each of whom has a dog who they are very attached to. None of them can communicate with each other in any way shape or form. They hear that there is a disease going around their dogs, and to stop the spread, they have to kill all the diseased dogs. However, they can not see the disease in their own dogs, only in another hunter's dog. They all get in a circle and examine each others' dogs every day. At the end of the day, if they know for certain their dog is diseased, they kill it. If there are 11 diseased dogs (the hunters do not know that, they only know there is at least 1) how many days does it take for the diseased dogs to all be killed? |
