Title: Buy Theorems at Walmart Post by william wu on Mar 6th, 2012, 1:25pm My advisor Brad Osgood was doing a google search for the Gershgorin Circle Theorem, and this came up amongst the links. http://wuriddles.com/images/walmart_math.png |

Title: Re: Buy Theorems at Walmart Post by SWF on Mar 6th, 2012, 7:47pm Does someone who purchases the theorem have the rights to rename the theorem, or is he just purchasing a license to use it? Apparently putting Walmart in the search line submits it to Walmarts search function. Even "Sears Walmart" goes to Walmart's site instead of Sears. |

Title: Re: Buy Theorems at Walmart Post by Michael Dagg on Mar 9th, 2012, 5:28pm I find that rather interesting to say the least. As if they are using the referrer keywords in the advertisement link. Nothing surprises me. Anyway, Gershgorin's theorem is a nice method of approximating eigenvalues by using a union of disks in the complex plane. It is effective and the algorithm to do it is not too complex. If anyone is interested in it I am game to discuss it. |
