Title: what's . in base n

It all started as a stupid pun.

What's:
3.1103755200...?

But that raised an more curious question for me.
What are non -integer numbers called in bases other than base ten? And what's the . called?
Huh. No-one here knew a good answer...
Double huh.

well....

I took 3.11037... to be Octal Pi.

and borrowing the format of "decimal" then non integers would be "N-imals".

Awfully sorry. I'll slink away again... ::)

I don't really get the octal pi. But N-imals isn't too bad.
