Title: Brand New, Amazing Card Games?
Post by mfirmata on Apr 25th, 2005, 9:04pm
With the help of some friends, I've invented some new card games, or maybe, variations of already existing card games different enough, though, to be considered "novel."  The trouble is: (1) I 'm not sure what strategy should be used when playing these games (if any exists at all, or is it all luck?)  (2) The instructions for game play I have are mediocre at best: the way I’ve been teaching people how to play is by watching and learning, or through example.

The whole dilemma I’m in is this: I’m a bit protective of my ideas, or at least of my perceived originality, and I’m not ready to post the game on the internet, but at the same time, value the judgment and knowledge of many of the members here.

Perhaps we can start with someone showing interest and proceed with “private messages” or e-mails, or even posts in this thread.  I’m not sure. One game is a rummy-type, "play down cards when you have a certain group of cards" game, and the other is a trump-trick game much like spades, hearts, set-back (pitch), etc.

Finally, I feel it’s probably not necessary, but I’ll add that, even though, I’m a “newbie” and I’ve only been an official member for about 9 months, I’ve been visiting the forum regularly for close to 2 years now, so I have an idea already who I’d like help from, but, of course, I’m open to any help, and I’ll see who bites.

Thanks.

If you want to PM or e-mail me, I'd be willing to take a look.

Okay, Thanks.  I have very basic and sometimes ambiguous rules and directions for the games written already, but I'd like to polish them up some so they are more clear.  I've been a bit busy with work lately and may be for a few weeks, but I'll get something to you when I have a little more time.

Again, thanks.
