How many letters does the correct answer to this puzzle contain?

The only answer possible is four. Four is the only number that, when spelled out, contains the number of letters specified by the number itself... I don't know if that makes any sense but basically, four is the answer because it contains 4 letters.

Great puzzle, but why did you put the answer in the question on the forehand. It's more fun to solve a riddle when the answer has not already been given.

This puzzle is on William's main puzzle pages. relk started this thread to give his answer to that puzzle, not to pose the question for others.
