Half a mater long black straight line is drawn with a marker pen on a white floor. Can you make the line shorter without touching it?

is the floor bendable? If yes, just make it in half so the the lines on each half touch and you have a shorter one.

Start walking parallel to the line. Relativistic effects mean the length in my frame is shorter than in the line's rest frame.

I encountered this riddle a few days ago in an Indian television drama show Udaan and it was solved by the protagonist a little girl named Chakor.
