Reasoning:

Black has only had 6 moves, at least 1 of which is needed to advance the pawn, and at least 4 of which to get the knight in position, leaving at most 1 move to get the black queen into position to be captured, meaning the captur has to take place on d6, d7 or d8.

White has taken exactly one move to get the pawn into position, so has 6 moves to move a piece to capture the queen and return home - 3 moves to capture and 3 to return. The only white pieces that can reach d6, d7, or d8 in three moves are the white knights, which can reach d6 or d7.

A knight capturing the queen on d6 would put the king in check, requiring additional moves. Therefore, the capture has to take place on d7, and be carried out by white's king's knight (the queen's knight would be on the wrong colour square after 3 moves).

Moving between g1 and d7 in 3 moves requires f3 to be free, so the pawn move must be white's most recent. In order to be captured on white's third move, the black queen has to be in position after black's second move, meaning the pawn has to move on black's first move.

Once the queen is captured, the black knight's path is dictated by the necessity of dodging the white knight on its homeward path.

The black knight on h4 must have started on b8 since it would take at least 3 moves for the knight on g8 to get there, and more than 1 move for a knight to get from b8 to g8...
