Title: Four men, one crime
Post by BenVitale on Jun 26th, 2009, 11:40am
Four men, one of whom has committed a crime, made these statements:

Arch: "Dave did it."
Dave: "Tony did it."
Gus: "I didn't do it."
Tony: "Dave lied when he said I did it."

If only one of them lied, then Dave is the criminal.

Assuming, furthermore, that each of them either lied or told the truth (i.e. excluding statements that are unconnected to reality), and that lying equals telling untruths (rather than, say, trying to convince someone of something you believe to be untrue)
