Title: Hexidecimal
Post by Viperdude619 on Jan 9th, 2004, 5:08pm
Assume you and dead people know the hexidecimal number system. How many people know the hexidecimal number system?

Assuming that this is not a trick question, it depends on how far you want to go back.
For example, were Neanderthals people?
Anyway, I have seen estimates of 9 or 10 to 1 for the ratio of the dead to the living.

I suspect it is, and it could be a trick question on two counts...

1. [hide]None. There is no such thing as hexidecimal, rather hexadecimal[/hide].

2. [hide]One. Dead people are not people, so 'you' is the only person[/hide].

[hide] Well, dead = 57005 in decimal form, so 1 + 57005 = 57006 people. [/hide]

'Hexidecimal' gets 35,100 hits on Google.
I wonder which mis-spelling gets the most hits.

As nobody knows 'hexidecimal', the answer should be zero.

An alternative formulation:

Q: If deaf people understand hexadecimal numbers, and two of them pass away, what can we say of their remaining number?

A: It's dead.
