Title: White Cannot Win (Chess) Post by THUDandBLUNDER on Jan 6th, 2004, 11:02am White has a king, a queen and two pawns against Black's lone king. It is White to move. It is not stalemate. White still cannot win. Construct such a position. Given the above conditions, how much material is it possible for White to have? |

What if white moves his queen to E8, then Black takes the pawn at H7? white could then rearrange his pieces accordingly to get a checkmate. |

If white moves queen to G8, it is checkmate. It he moves queen to G1, black can take the pawn and it is not stalemate. |
