Razor gleam and shadows, the silver strata of Manhattan. -------<<((O))>> ------- I slip into a dream, the cool, soft milk of satin. ------------------------

1... Clouds (again, a homograph) 2... beds... Hang on; Raven, what accent do you have? Only ask because there is no way on Earth I'd say Eros and Arrows sounded the same.. (Ear-os vs Ar-rows at a push arr-as) feel I should be leaning towards Styx. OR given the past, Charon.

Yep, I know what you mean about the Eros/Arrows connection. I've heard Eros pronounced three different ways in as many days. I guess I should have looked it up to be certain, but they sound the same one of those ways. Hey, you say 'tomato' I say 'tomato'... what can I say. :: You have a good connection on the title ::

I realize the associations with this riddle are too difficult for normal casual riddling fun... But I'm going to leave it up here for anyone that wants to continue torturing themselves. You masochists you!

I've been trying to think about it, but that just makes my brain hurt... The first line reminds be of "smoke and mirrors" if that's any consolation.

The problem is, that I can't get which is the better homophone, given all the accentry (like ancestry, only sounds funny) Styx=sticks and Charon=Sharon, or Karen. If part 2 WAS bed, then I could believe the answer was river .

Back into the fray... I get a couple of different angles on this one. Assuming that the Styx and Charon ideas are close, I have tried to work backwards. But, it did not help. So, forwards... The strata is Glass, if we are talking about the city for glass/glass. Or, Isle/I'll/Aisle. But, if it is a drink, then maybe ice/eyes or Whiskey/we ski or Vermouth/Yer moose (if you have a heavy Minnesota accent maybe ) But^2, if it is the beach in California, the we have beach/beech. Which gave me some hope. I thought that the beech tree was symbolic of something sub-terra. But, I could not find anything. Then the second riddlet is even worse. Sheet seems to be the best for sheet/sheet. But, also Symbol/cymbal, which I think is good for copper/brass. Cement, concrete, glacial moraine, island, steel, whatever...
