Here's a riddle I was pondering with no definite answer given, maybe you can give your interpretation of it: I wear gray, woven over With bright and gleaming gems. I bring The stupid to folly's paths, fool The ignorant with sin, urge all the useless Roads and ruin the rest. I can' Explain their madness, for I push them to error And pick their brains, yet they praise me more. For each seduction. Their dullness will be sorrow, When they lead their souls on high, unless They learn to walk wisely, and without my help.

My first idea came from the gray and the gems, which led me to what might be an okay answer. Doubt, or faithlessness, specifically a lack of belief in the almighty. The first thing that came to mind was a gray road to hell paved with good (gleaming gems of) intentions. Then, I tried to make it fit the rest, and kept coming back to Doubt, capital D doubt as in Thomas. Probably Faithlessness is a better answer, but I have trouble it seems to be a lack of something rather than a thing. And, I want answers to riddles to be things, or something.
