hey, this riddle is most likely really easy, but it'd mean a lot if someone could help me solve it here it is: Which 7 letter word becomes longer when the third letter is removed?

Sewpur_m0nkey: "lounger" is AN answer, since it exactly fits the question. All other choices but "u" when added to "longer" as the third letter do not provide a real word, so "lounger" is the only possible answer to the question under this interpretation. The only other possible interpretation I can think of is that the letter refered to is the third letter of the alphabet: "c". But adding "c" to "longer" in any position does not provide a real word either. I suspect that either (1) you messed up somehow in trying this answer (if this is in a program somewhere, are you sure you did not mistype it?), or (2) whoever gave you the problem is confused about the answer (if you were to read through all the threads on this site, you would find several instances where this has happened), or (3) whoever posed the question is trying to be "cute", and has some trick that is not implied in any way by the problem, such as a word in a language other than english (I've run into people like this a few times as well - as I do not cuss, I find it hard to adequately describe what I think of them! )
