AFTER A MURDER TRIAL TWELVE JURORS TAKE A PRELIMINARY VOTE. MOST ARE CONVINCED THAT THE ACCUSED IS GUILTY. TWELVE VOTED NOT GUILTY. WHY?

The voting took place at two different locations among two different sets of jurors?

After the preliminary vote, they discussed it and took a subsequent vote.  In that vote, they all voted not guilty.  I guess one of the jurors was very persuasive.

I too like the film. However, only the preliminary vote is of importance here.
 
The remake is quite good but I myself prefer the film with Henry Fonda.
