A man found a device which allows him to see the future, including lottery winning numbers for the next 100 years. He has no restraints regarding using the device and nothing prevents him from doing just that yet he is poor. Can you explain it?

He is poor because he paid a fortune to the crook who sold him the device.

He can see there's no point to becoming rich. Every possible future where he "cheats" to become rich has a bad ending.

| I am uncertain whether or not you just solved the riddle by not giving away too much. Perhaps you're just on the right track. Not sure which.

It was more a joke, an outside-of-the-box answer. But maybe the device shows him all the winning lottery numbers, but also the names of the grand winners, which doesn't include him. So the device shows him the future. And if he doesn't like it, too bad, he cannot change it. How could a device show you the future if you still can change it?

The intended answer is a rather simple one and it might disappoint you.

Nope. He is in perfect health. Perhaps the answer is too simple. Of course, riddling myopia can blind beautiful minds as well.
