Jules et Jim

Jules and Jim are two little boys and best friends ever. They promise that, when they'll turn adult and whenever one of them is to be married, the other one will be attending the bachelor's party no matter what (distance, professional constraints etc). If he will fail to attend, their friendship will be broken forever. Jules turns 25, finds the love of his life and schedules his wedding. Lo and behold, Jim does not show at the bachelor's party, but Jules is not upset. Why? PS Jim is alive and well. No catastrophe (earthquake, fire etc) occurs whatsoever.

Could it be?...... Jim is also having the bachelor's party. Because Jules also broke the promise both of them are not upset with each other.

I'm curious, for relationships such as this, do they have separate bachelor parties? Why not have just one.., after all, it's not like they have different set of friends.

Though it's likely they share a lot of friends, there might well be big differences; e.g. (former) colleagues. And I think the idea of a bachelor party is to have one last wild party without your significant other around.
