There's a body lying dead on a bed, and on the floor beside it is a pair of scissors. The scissors were instrumental in his death, yet there's no trace of blood. The body reveals no signs of any cuts or bruises. How could the person have been murdered with the pair of scissors?

The scissors are obnoxiously heavy and prevent a trap door from being opened by the (deadly) monsters below. The dead person knew about the monsters and decided to die of starvation/thirst instead.

The victim recently had a serious accident, about which their friends and relatives do not know anything yet. They had to stay in bed because of the accident. This takes place in the 1980s, when their only means to contact the outside world was a landline phone. The "murderer" used the scissors to cut the phone cable. Lacking the ability to ask for help, the victim died of starvation.

The victim is in a hospital on life support. The killer, not being all too bright obtained scissors and cut the cord, rather than "pulling the plug".

The scissors where used to cut the ducttape to tie the victim down and asphyxiate him.

Event in hospital would probably be possible. If he would be asphyxiated, wouldn't he have bruises? Unless pillow or plastic bag would be used...

The trap door answer, while brilliant, would technically count as suicide I think. Also, the term 'instrumental' is fairly vague here, as scissors ARE instruments with which we cut things. Taking that into into account: - The scissors were used to cut the material that was used to sufficate him. - The scissors were used to cut open the bag with the goldfish who's body as found. - The scissors were used to both open the bag and cut the heroine/cocain into lines that the man overdosed on.

The theory goes that a million monkeys typing at a million typewriter will produce the entire works of Shakespeare. Now, thanks to the internet, we know that's not true.

He was killed by a vampire who lost his teeth. Not very glorious to use scissors, but it does the job.

| Wouldn't that leave cuts? I mean, it explains why there's no trace of blood, but the puncture wounds would still be there.

Err... you're right! I stopped at "no blood". I didn't read the next sentence. I guess that suggesting the vampire that also is a highly skilled micro-surgeon would be a bit far-fetched.

May be after the surgery the doctors must have left or kept the scissors aside of the dead body.

He has been murdered by the Scissors family. Or he was allergic to scissors. Or he was stabbed with the scissors, collapsed and fell into a coma which lasted until his death nine months later. His family requested laser scar removal because it will be a Greek funeral. Or his psychiatrist hypnotized him into wanting to commit suicide by taking sleeping pills when he sees a pair of scissors. Or he had a bad heart. When he saw his wife cutting her fingernails with the scissors, he had a heart attack. Or he had an irrational fear of scissors. Or he died of shock when the murderer cut his Babe Ruth baseball card. Or the murderer used a nasal bottle filled with cyanide. So when the victim touched the handles of the pair of scissors, he had convulsions and died an agonizing death. Or he had the bubble boy disease, so he had to live out his life in incubator-like conditions. The murderer pierced a hole in his protective bubble with the scissors and the contact with unfiltered air killed him. Or the man was craniopagus conjoined twin. So there were two bodies on the bed and the other twin was stabbed. Or the murderer strangled him with the handles of the largest pair of scissors in the world. The victim's regular intake of certain nutrients, mostly antioxidants, improved his capillary stability, making him less bruise-prone. Or the scissors were out of phase with normal matter because the murderer changed their molecular density.

I feel the intended solution is the hospital one, the man was on life support and the murderer cut some tube. But I have another one. The bed is the bed of a river. The man was a diver. The kind with lead shoes. The scissors were used to cut his air supply.

| Not bad. It reminds me of the film Deathtrap when Clifford chases Myra through the house with apparent intent to kill until her heart gives out.
