The Train
« on: Apr 10th, 2008, 6:38am »
Quote Quote Modify Modify

The train stopped at the station and Jimmy got into the last compartment. The train started to move and stopped again one hour later. And although it did not stop or slow down in between and Jimmy did not jump off, he was nowhere to be found on the train. What happened?

He got into the last compartment of another train.

Or he died on the train.

Or somebody pushed him off the train.

Or the train was moving veeeeeeeeeery slowly. It’s name is Snailtrack.

Or sex change was performed on the train.

Or he was in the train, not on the train.

Or he was hiding well, so the police haven’t found him.

Or the train started to move one hour later, because of a malfunction.

Or there was dynamite in the last compartment.

Or helicopter picked him up.

Or the last compartment got disconnected from the penultimate one. This could be because of manufacturing error, but it’s most likely that Jimmy is a thief.

Heh, this answer, although plausible, made me laugh. Tongue

Jimmy drove his car onto the EuroTunnel Car Shuttle (a train service between Calais France and Folkstone UK). When he arrived at the destination, he drove off the train.

Of course, if his name was Jerry instead of Jimmy and the last compartment was a luggage/cargo carriage that contained a cage with Mammy's pet cat, Tom, and the unfortunate Jerry wandered into Tom's cage then we would have an other solution...  Wink

I like Tom & Jerry, but isn’t it a bit unusual to give your pet a human name? I can understand affection, but pets usually have names of their own. Heh, if you’re not careful and you open the window a bit, there’s a good chance that you’ll lose your pet.

Another plausible answer, Jimmy was hiding under the train, and therefore not actually on the train.

The "last compartment" is how the call the toilet cabin at the back of the train station.
