You want to captain the sea ship Enterprise. In order to get the ship, 1st you must answer the question below correctly.

You are the midget tourist in topnotch health, onboard the ship, traveling overseas. After catching some fresh air outside, being a lone wolf, you return alone to your cabin. The only object inside is one bed, mounted to the wall, so you take a nap. Several hours later, you decide to get out of the cabin. But even though there's nothing blocking your way out and you can move freely inside the cabin, you don't leave it for 4 hours. Why? Mind you, the door wasn't stuck nor was the key.

If you're the midget, I suppose you can't reach the cabin doorknob and must wait for something special to happen  Wink

There is a danger outside, you are just waiting for it to clear up.

But how do you explain you returning alone to your cabin then? Nobody opened the door for you, so no.

No. You want to leave the cabin, and so you're not waiting for anything.

When you wake up, it's already night and the room is too dark for you to see anything. Since you are a midget, you can't put on the lights as the switch is beyond your reach. So you decide to wait till the sun comes up.

Lame, but at least you're thinking now. Just think some more. Btw, the chances are real high that you stumble on the doorknob in the dark.

First I was thinking along the silly lines:

Crawling up onto the bed was the easy part, but perhaps I'm a midget with a terrible fear of heights, and it takes me 4 hours to build of the courage to drop down to the floor and leave Smiley.

The casinos and bars were not yet opened?

(yes, this is ridiculous considering that these watering holes stay open nearly 24-7)

If you don't know the answer you don't know the answer. But yes, the answer isn't a usual one.

No to both. At this particular moment you're not thinking straight; which is all right, I suppose, because this is perhaps an unorthodox riddle. Think-tank, anyone?

Due to a problem with the design of the boat, and a definite "not my job" attitude of the contractors, a giant clock was fixed on the wall half covering the door of the cabin.  You can leave the cabin only when both hands are on the right side of the dial.
