An important message

Tom is imprisoned in a maximum prison facility, serving 10 years, and he has something important to say to his friend who is visiting him. The visiting area is separated by soundproof glass, and Tom's hands are tied behind his back, but the prison guard had enough courtesy to put the earpiece on his shoulder. Their conversation is being recorded, and if they hear what Tom has to say to his friend, it will be considered evidence, which will automatically add 10 more years to his sentence. Evidently, Tom wants to avoid this, but it is equally important for him to say what he wants to say to his friend. There is also a camera on the ceiling, right above Tom, taping him and his pal. The guards who are monitoring them cannot be fooled, as they see through a brick wall. Still, Tom passes the above information to his buddy w/o guards noticing it, even though his friend cannot lip-read. How then?

All prisoners have access to their lawyers privately because of lawyer-client confidentiality. All Tom needed to say to his visitor friend is "my lawyer has a message for you" after having previously relayed the message to his laywer.

That's actually been done before. That's how we knew for sure the POWs were being tortured at the Hanoi Hilton...

Be careful. Once you enter my mind, there is no reverting to a previous state of your mind. This is a bonus, since my mind is rather imaginative, but the downside is schizophrenia, which you also acquire. So you will endure paranoid and delusional episodes. After all, I am A Beautiful Riddling Mind. There isn't such a movie, yet, but three script writers are working on it.
