Kill Bill 5

Bill and Johnny, two pretty rich blokes, even though Bill is richer, are playing poker, when Johnny proposes 'the real thing'. He says, 'how about we play for real money, regarding the next game? Who wins gets $1.000.000 check from the loser. What say you?' Bill agrees, and he loses the game, so he makes out the above check and hands it to Johnny. Johnny looks at the check and everything seems in order. It is late at night, and tomorrow, on Sunday, bank is closed, so Johnny waits for Monday to cash in the check. On Monday morning, he puts clothes on as he is eager to go to the bank, but when he takes the above check from the drawer, he stays home instead. Why?

It's a traveler's check, so he can spend it like real money.

He remembered that Monday is President's day, and the banks are closed.

He just noticed the check is forward dated. Termites got to the check. He heard over the radio that Bill is now bankrupt, so the check would probably bounce. He just noticed its snowing.

Bill wrote the check from Johnny's own check book. Johnny only realised after seeing the bank name and account # when he picked up the check from the drawer, details which he missed the first time.

Was the check different from its original appearance when he picked in up from the drawer?

Johnny realizes that if Bill had $1'000'000 on his bank account, he wouldn't live in such a lousy neighborhood and have friends like himself. Or he realizes that the bank is located in Turkey.

| I did too, but I decided to post it. However, to be in keeping with the riddle I posted it in an invisible font. Obviously no one saw it before it "vanished".

Heh, I was going to suggest something completely different... I was going to suggest that in the MEMO line Bill wrote something either incredibly embarrassing or moreover, maybe incriminating to the point where he'd be afraid to cash it.
