Titanic is back

Little did you know about the subordinate event, although quite important to Dean and his parents, which occurred about an hour before Titanic hit the iceberg. What happened is that Dean, being a child, sneaked out of his cabin at night, to play all alone with guard rail, and he fell overboard. He was tongue-tied and he couldn't scream, so nobody heard him. There were no icebergs or other vessels nearby, and more importantly, the fall didn't kill him and he couldn't swim, but he didn't drown. What happened?

Nope. Btw, I didn't hear about that kind of a ship before.

Did he die some other way?  By encountering the ship's propeller, perhaps?

-he fell over the railing but something stopped him from going down to the water such as the structural beams shown here:

or

-The lifeboats on the Titanic were by the railing on the upper deck. Suppose he was playing in one of the lifeboats. He fell overboard (of the lifeboat) onto the upper deck of the titanic.

He was wearing a flotation device.

These guesses are real good, but I had something else in mind, so no lifejackets and no propeller. After these kinds of guesses, I realize what a stupid, selfish man I am.   Embarassed  Wink

If he died, hypothermia is the way he would have.

Maybe the water was so salty he so he was able to float, e.g. like The Dead Sea.

I'm not quite sure what kind of marine life is in the north Atlantic, but maybe a shark attack?

Yes. Sharks sometimes follow ships.  Roll Eyes

We know when it happened (about an hour before Titanic hit the iceberg).  But we don't know where.  Maybe it was in the vast plains of Mongolia.

the Titanic sailed from New England to Britain. It's pretty much a lateral course over the globe, so it most likely went in a straight line over the North Atlantic. Besides, ships travel very slowly. It would not have been more than 30 miles away from the iceberg.

Suppose it happened an hour before Armstrong stepped on the Moon.  Would you expect the poor child to suffocate?

There isn't any direct claim that Dean was on the Titanic; the facts may be unrelated. So he may have fell overboard from another boat.
