You are the world champion in swimming. Your coach is a bit eccentric and he likes riddles, so sometimes he tests your IQ in this way, even though it doesn't improve your swimming. But he is a good coach, so you tolerate his little riddling moments. He also likes lakes, so one day he asks you: 'How would you get from southern to northern side of a beautiful big lake, the fastest you can? Mind you, all you are allowed to bring are clothes and footwear, that's all.'

Is the shape of the lake relevant?

If you have good footwear, there is some chance walking around the lake is the fastest way to get from the southern side to the northern one. Or wait till it's frozen, and skate.

A "beautiful big lake" is likely to have boats on them. So, rent a speed boat.

I would cross over the lake in a F-16 fighter. Sure beats those speedboats and skaters. (in this case I am not bringing other objects, the F16 is bringing me )

| I'm not sure an F-16 would count as clothes. Skates is already stretching the "you can bring just your clothes"-clause enough.

| It could if I'm flying naked... Hasta la Vista (insert F16 afterburner explosion noise here).

Hmm.. depending on the season, swimming or walking would be faster.
