All that Timothy had with him was a needle and suture. He got wounded, and because of the breeze, he wasn't able to patch up his wound properly. What happened?

Maybe the breeze was blowing dirt or dust into the wound and he knew he couldn’t patch it up if there was anything inside it?

He got wounded on one hand and could not thread the suture into the needle using both hands. By using one hand he can hang the suture onto a low tree branch and then push the needle hole through the end of the suture but the breeze made the suture jump around too much.

Maybe he was on a boat? The wind was causing waves that made the boat heave.

Perhaps the only fabric he had was the sail on his boat.  Had there been no breeze, he might have used the sail.  Since there was a breeze he decided to leave the sail up and attempt to make land before fixing himself up.

Perhaps the wound was on his cheek or forehead. The breeze kept blowing his long hair onto the wound  while we was putting in the stitches.

He is windsurfing.  Have you ever tried to put a thread in the hole of a needle while windsurfing?

Perhaps he was mountain climbing where he slipped and hurt himself and he was hanging by the rope. Because of breeze he couldn't get a proper holding to stich himself up...

His tie got stuck on a wind-powered irrigation system.  Because of the breeze, he is pulled up and down in the water.

No, but one word of your guess has to do with the solution, including breeze, of course.
