He Vanished!!!

One day, a boy was outside when it started to rain. Sometime, when the rain was pouring down, the boy completly vanished and was never seen again. After investigating the scene, the investigaters found and concluded 3 things: 1. The area had not flooded. 2. It had rained less than half an inch and rained for no longer than 5 minutes. Also this was normal rain that was 100% water. 3. Yet, somehow, the boy had vanished solely because of rain. What happened?

Half an inch (about 1.3 cm for our non-american visitors) in only five minutes is an very heavy rain, even though it is a short one. More than enough to wash away a chalk picture of a boy, to add another suggestion to Jinbotak's.

It was acid rain. Or he was in his mother's belly, and she had a miscarriage because she was dancing in the rain. Or he was the Bubble Boy. The rain completely disintegrated him because he forgot to take his special raincoat. Or he opened a giant umbrella and vanished. Quote:The area had not flooded. |
| The river did not burst its banks, but there was a river nonetheless. If it was Nile, then he disappeared for sure because the river is green. Or is it yellow? Or he was an acidhead. He opened an umbrella, because of the rain. The wind was strong, so when he opened the umbrella, it propelled him straight into an acid cloud. For a minute he was in Heaven. Was the boy David Copperfield? Still, you claim that he disappeared because of the rain alone. I have to think about this for at least five months.

| Correct. Of course, there are certainly many other answers that would fit just as well. Kind of a stupid riddle.

You can only believe i what you can prove, and since you have nothing proven to cmpare to, you can believe in nothing.
I have ~50 posts to hack a "R" into a "D". Which one?

If it was only a chalk boy, why were there investigators there looking into the disappearance? Maybe there were investigators around because it was a murder scene and that was the chalk outline of a boy who had previously been murdered. To me, a picture or outline of a boy is not a boy.

Many "what happened" type riddles rely on exactly this sort of trick. You set up the situation to sound like you are talking about one thing when in fact you are talking about something else. It is not uncommon to refer to a picture of a boy as a "boy". You yourself did so in the opening clause of that post. As for "investigators" - there is no mention of them being police investigators. They could just be kids investigating whether or not their drawing survived the downpour.

AllThatRemains, your avatar is awfully large- what is that a couple of Meg (I didn't finish loading it). Now that I know what constitutes an acceptable answer, how about the "boy" was a tiny sculpture of a boy carved out a sugar cube. Or perhaps he was son of the Wicked Witch of the West.
