Alternate death scenes

This might not make sense to everyone, but I will do my best to explain. Also, for certain people who has done something, they will get the riddle as soon as they see it.

Alternate death #1:
Goliath was not killed by David, but by a ghost.

Alternate death #2:
The hydra was not killed by Hercules, but by vultures.

Explain.

Well, Goliath was killed by a high-velocity stone, although I suppose you could argue that the Holy Ghost may have had a hand in the death.

Equally, the Hydra was merely decapitated (several times) by Hercules - it was his companion's use of fire on each neck which prevented them from growing back in multiples, and I suppose you could argue that the companion (Iolas?) was hanging around Hercules like vultures (either that or the hydra was left near-dead after Hercules' encounter with it, and some vultures came along to finish the job).

Just a couple of ideas

Nope. It has nothing to do along those lines. For this one, you have to think out of the box, and not everyone will know the answer, since you have to know something specific.

Was it Space Ghost that killed Goliath?

And did the vultures kill a type of plant called "hydra"?

I guess it's outside the box, at least.

Really?  It seems it's from the same place as #1 to me, just abbreviated.

Yes, I guess you could say it's abbreviated.  It's missing 4 letters at the end.

Yes, but just about everyone I know abbreviates it.

Anyways, back to the discussion...

Yeah. I abbreviated hydralisk into hydra, so that might have blinded some people.

Strangely enough, for owning it, I don't remember any of those names or anything.
