Mine is similar to Locke's "slow change" riddle. We were originally going to do one riddle together, but then he posted his version, so I'll post my version.

An astronomer started his first day at an observatory. Before he started, the janitor showed him around. However, when he arrived that night, he forgot the password to the observatory, and there is no other way in.

[_ _ _ _ _] password
look up password hint

Wow.  This is completely different than the one that you showed me.  I'll have to guess the obvious stars or space.

BTW, I don't think 'look up' should've been the first clue, as that doesn't allow people to make any progress whatsoever.  You have to use the other one to lead them on the right track.

What about Raven's? His first hint didn't make any sense either.

We don't even know what the answer to the riddle is, so we can't determine whether or not the clue was relevant.

Here is a thought, if I go to work at night, and standing before the entrance I'm told to "Look Up", I will most likely only see the bright security spotlight shining down on the door... so with this in mind:

LIGHT   Roll Eyes

...alternatively, if my pupils are dilated and I don't have on my shades, I will probably see:

SPOTS   Cool

 Grin

No to everyone.

Hint 1:It's an obvious one, but who cares. I am older than anyone here.

I just realized something. My password hint wasn't good enough, so you guys are probably going to have to rely on the hints that I give out.

By 'I' he means the answer to the riddle, not himself BTW. ;)

None of the ones you just said (blaze, etc) were, but one that you said earlier was going to be a clue (I think) that he was going to post.

Yes, I agree, the shotgun approach is cheap! However, there is no clear criteria to try to narrow the field either.

 Cool

...how about:

I probably got the directory wrong, but it would give the list of all 5 letter words that are available in the standard linux dictionary.
I mean, I could giving a dozen 5 letter words like some, or just go for the big score all at once. :P

There is the possibility it's not a word in there, but my guess would be it is.
