How did he die?

I remembered this riddle after reading flamingdragon's dead man in a desert. I think some of you may have heard this before, so forgive me if you have, since I'm new at this. The riddle itself is pretty close to his, but the answer is completely different.
A guy is found dead on a plain with a straw in his hand. There are no tracks leading to or away from the body, nor has any been covered over. How did he die, and why?
Remember to explain why.

The guy was in a wheat field and got run over by a wheat harvester which transformed the wheat field into a plain. Why he died?....well two tons of metal going over the guy pretty much explains it
Edit: You might ask what why he was in the wheat field: He was in the process of building a crop circle

The guy was walking through the plain when someone threw a straw out of an airplane window, the straw hit the guy on the head, normally that would do little damage, but from how high up the plane was the straw was enough to kill him.

I heard it was a hot-air balloon, which would make more sense, since it truly depends on weight for flight, moreson than a plane.

Yup, you guys got it right. The guy was on a hot-air balloon with a couple of other people. The balloon was going down, and they had to get rid of whatever weight they can. They all drew straws, and the poor guy drew the short straw, so he jumped.
Wow, that was fast.

It was fast partly because this riddle has been posted many times before. Though all of the replies on this one were from newer members, so they may not have seen it as often as I have.
As for how to quote other people, if you will look in the right hand corner of every post, you will see 3 links. One is for quoting, which anyone can do. The other two are for modifying or removing the post, which only the poster can do.

The guy was on a hot air ballon, together with the Straw Hat Pirate Crew. He made the fatal mistake of touching's Luffy's Straw Hat, and got ejected from the ballon with Luffy's Gomu Gomu Bazooka. He died upon impact on the ground...
