Note : this question is related to one of my other threads. A man turns on the radio. After listening for 10 minutes he realizes he is done for. He commit suicide Note 1 : There is no "end of the world" type scenario here Note 2 : NEVER has he comitted a crime and never will. Note 3 : Think about the radio. Hint [hide]It may not be what you are thinking[/hint] you will need to ask yes / no questions. its impossible without it.

The radio was anouncing they were being attacked by aliens! Did what he hear on the radio make him commit suicide? Was he listening to music? Is he in a car?

Did he work in a lighthouse? If so, I'm gonna go jump off something.

There's a couple of things- Lighthouse keeper, blown fuse, guilt, like WTF says That Restorative surgery to cure deafness, broken radio, depression all have In a submarine that's sitting on the bottom of the ocean, and hears the rescue team call it off something in common.

A power failure? Radio stops. His wife was on life-suport system; realizing that she's dead, he commits suicide. Sound okay?

Guy is on a boat. They hit an iceberg. They are sinking. He takes the radio and calls: - We are sinking, we are sinking. After much trying, yes, he hears a voice. Faint. It is difficult to make out with all the static. But it is his only hope. He has to transmit his coordinates. Call for rescue. After a while he hears, with a strong foreign accent: - What ... are you sinking ... about?

foreign part no. But it was close. He had been in a sunken vessel. He heard on a radio signal he picked up that his vessel was doomed to flood and unable to be saved. Therefore he committed suicide.

My story came from a (norwegian I think) advertisement for learning english. It shows the story from the point of view of a young coast guard.
